Solve real problems in real situations

Here, learning is a journey of exploration deep into the real world. Students are the active creators and problem solvers.

We take complex real problems as the starting point and end with creative results and positive community impact. Each project is an interdisciplinary in-depth exploration, aiming to forge students' future-oriented core literacy: critical thinking, innovative cooperation ability, tenacious character and sense of social responsibility.

We are convinced that when students are given trust to solve real-world problems, the internal drive and sense of accomplishment they gain will lead them to grow into active lifelong learners.

How to make a library with a collection of more than 40,000 books further improve the utilization rate and borrowing volume? The students of the junior high school department took the initiative to take over the "baton" of the transformation, starting a PBL practical journey that integrates exploration, creation and collaboration.

After the project was launched, the children walked out of the campus and drew inspiration from the city bookstore; designed and recycled questionnaires to accurately understand the needs of students. Based on research, carry out systematic actions: create a cultural and creative brand of "Ceresy BBK" to attract attention with creative products; Re-classify books scientifically and optimize the display method, so that good books can really be "seen"; build an art wall and a wish tree with their own hands, replace the lazy sofa, and transform the originally quiet space into a warm and pleasant reading harbor; and establish a long-term mechanism for continuous optimization by setting up a "whimsical wall".

This student-led renewal action has doubled the borrowing volume of the library and become the most dynamic learning and communication space on campus. More importantly, students have effectively improved their interdisciplinary integration ability, critical thinking, teamwork and communication ability in the process of solving real problems.

When they see with their own eyes that their ideas have effectively improved the campus environment, the sense of accomplishment and responsibility from the bottom of their hearts becomes the inner force that drives their lifelong growth.

BBK 24-Hour News
BBK 24-Hour News

When Chinese learning breaks through the boundaries of textbooks and moves towards real social practice, what kind of sparks will burst out? BBK News 24-hour "project-based learning extends Chinese classes to every corner of the campus, guiding students from news readers to campus news discoverers, writers and disseminators.

The project takes completing a real press release as its core task, and requires students to independently complete the whole process from topic selection planning to public display in a team. Students in each class formed a news interview group to dig deep into the real issues in campus life.

In the project practice, the students deeply experienced the complete process of news work: keenly capturing news points, designing interview outlines, sorting out press releases, and completing video production. Finally, pieces of news were broadcast and showcased to the whole school through the press conference, allowing the participants to gain a genuine sense of accomplishment and valuable growth experiences.

Identify a meaningful problem and conduct multi-faceted explorations. Through practical and valuable project-based tasks, we can effectively stimulate students' intrinsic learning motivation and cultivate them into future citizens with comprehensive literacy.

Operation to ease the gridlock on Lianhu Road
Operation to ease the gridlock on Lianhu Road

During the morning and evening rush hour, the congestion of Lianhu Road became a real problem that plagued the community. The students of our school's "vanguard team of traffic relief initiative" began a project-based learning exploration rich in social responsibility.

After the start of the project, the students formed a team to use the knowledge of geography to conduct road modeling and analysis, deeply explore the traffic needs of different groups from the perspective of sociology, and seek a balance between commuting efficiency and the rights and interests of special groups. After multiple rounds of brainstorming, they put forward innovative solutions such as setting up "tidal lanes", showing the leap from "problem solver" to "value balancer" in the repeated weighing of safety and efficiency.

They transformed the research results into a complete traffic governance plan and formally submitted them to the deputies of the local people's congress, realizing the value transformation from campus thinking to social action. Each practitioner has personally experienced the complete process of citizens' participation in social governance.

When their suggestions and policies have won the attention of society, the civic self-confidence and sense of ownership nurtured by practice have become the most precious gain in children's growth.

Ivy Campus Public Welfare: Moxibustion and Health
Ivy Campus Public Welfare: Moxibustion and Health

"How to use biological knowledge to provide health services for campus guardians? The Junior High School Biological Ivy Society launched the "Moxibustion and Health" PBL project, starting a warm journey of integrating scientific exploration, traditional wisdom and humanistic care.

Students systematically learn plant hydroponic technology, build and manage hydroponic plant boxes by hand, record every detail of wormwood growth like professional researchers, and deeply understand the mystery of plant life cycle in practice. During the harvest season, they studied ancient books, consulted materials, fully practiced the traditional production process from wormwood leaves to wormwood to wormwood strips, and cleverly integrated biological knowledge with excellent Chinese traditional culture in hands-on operations.

The final link of the project turns to service practice. Under the professional guidance, the students provided intimate moxibustion services for teachers and logistics staff who have worked hard for a long time. Convey gratitude and respect in sincere communication, and express care and respect for campus workers with practical actions.

When they witness the warmth they bring to their teachers, the sense of social responsibility, gratitude, and humanistic care nurtured through labor and dedication becomes their shining moment of growth.
